Kenai River, Alaska, Sockeye Salmon (Red) are some of the most fun to catch in the
Kenai and Russian rivers. These counts are from the year 2004 and
representative of when the fish will be in the Kenai. Check out the
Russian River counts and you can see the pattern for travel up to the
Russian from the Kenai.
In 2004, I was on the Kenai on 7/15 near Soldotna and it was
absolutely wild. Fish on one right after another, stripping line,
taking tackle, and we landed about 1 of 4 on 5 weight fly rods. |
